Tuesday at this year’s Interbike Outdoor Demo started out with a serious thunderstorm and lots of rain. On the drive out to Boulder City, where the Outdoor Demo is held, streets had water up over the curbs and we navigated through about 8 inches of water at the bottom of the freeway onramp. That didn’t keep the bike testers away, though. The Bootleg Canyon parking lot was full when we got there and people were out thrashing test bikes in plastic ponchos and trash bags. Anyone who wasn’t out riding in the rain was huddled up under tents and canopies trying to stay dry.
Although the day started out wet, by about noon the rain had stopped and people who came out to Bootleg Canyon were treated to what were probably the best Interbike Outdoor Demo trail conditions ever.
