The latest addition to Giros line of helmets is the Feature. It is their new all-mountain trail ride helmet and a terrific helmet for Super-D style riding. Giro’s idea was to create a helmet that keeps the depth and coverage you get from a skate style design but with a lot more ventilation and a true visor. The visor design mimics what you get on their rugged full face helmets with around 15 degrees
of adjustability. It is constructed using Giro’s in-mold technology which means the outer shell is fused permanently to the EPS liner which enhances durability and reduces weight. It weighs in at just about 300 grams which is on par with their lightest skate style helmet and a lot lighter than a traditional helmet. This helmet also features Giros in-form fit system which has about 6 cm of glove friendly adjustment. The Feature is easy and intuitive to dial in the fit you need and also has height adjustments so you can adjust the for/aft tilt of the helmet. Plush antimicrobial interior padding helps wick the sweat away while keeping the funk down. Lightweight webbing helps to reduce the weight to a minimum while meeting all CPSC standards. The last really nice touch is the back channel for great goggle fit. It will retail for around $75 and should hit stores mid October 2011.
