Easton and Giro at Interbike 2010

Easton Havoc Handlebars

Easton has always had a pretty extensive cross country product line, and for 2011 the Haven All Mountain group (wheels, bars, stems and seatposts) gets some additions and redesigns, as does the Havoc Gravity group, which in their own words is “Strong like Bull”.

The Havoc bars are 750mm in length, with a 9d bend, 5d sweep, and 20 or 30mm rise (carbon only 20), and come in an aluminum version ($75) and carbon ($150). Both bars use their TaperWall technology, and the carbon’s come in at a light 235g, while the aluminum is 315g. The carbon bars have a nice feel to them, are light and look pretty decent.

Easton Havoc Wheels

The extremely cool Havoc wheels are now lighter (1750g), but are still beefy and well built, with a lot of attention to detail. They come in a very interesting Orange hub color scheme, in addition to the more subdued gray. The 28mm wide aluminum rims are UST compatible, using 24 butted Sapim spokes in a 3 cross pattern, using a front 20mm, and rear 10x135mm or 12×135/142mm, at a respectable $900. This wheelset was a highlight of the show for me, as there is a lot of hidden technology in this impressive product.
